2025 Updates
Here at Middlebury, we continue to emphasize the importance of intercultural communication and understanding. In the last few years, the International Programs Office has continued to build new and exciting off-campus study opportunities. Here is what is new at Middlebury and around the world!

This fall marked the 75th anniversary of the Middlebury Schools Abroad, and we’ve published a short article to commemorate the milestone.

Students continue to develop their language skills under the Middlebury Language Pledge®, and our newest immersion programs are in Puerto Rico, Kazakhstan, and Taiwan. We now have 16 Schools Abroad in 32 cities globally.

Thanks to generous grant funding from the Kathryn Wasserman Davis Collaborative, the Schools Abroad have been building out projects over the past few years with the goal of helping students build their conflict transformation skills in an intercultural context.

Undergraduates can now spend a semester at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies on the Study Away at Monterey program. They can study alongside graduate students on the Middlebury California Coast and Climate Semester, Middlebury Global Security Semester, and Middlebury International Studies Semester.
We have a large number of current Middlebury students planning to study away next year, and we continue to attract students from other colleges and universities. If you know an undergrad who might be interested, please encourage them to apply by our upcoming fall deadline of March 15th.
If you studied abroad while at Middlebury and have any updates to share, especially related to how your time abroad may have shaped your personal or professional trajectory, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with the Office of International Programs. Send us an email at internationalprograms@middlebury.edu.
