Leadership, creative thought, and intellectual risk taking: these are skills Middlebury students are eager to develop throughout college and beyond.

At Middlebury, we support student creativity, engagement, citizenship, and career and life preparedness by equipping students with the knowledge, attitude, optimism, skills, and experience they need to launch successfully into a life of meaningful and rewarding work and purpose. Our staff are educators, advisors, mentors, and connectors.

The Center for Community Engagement prepares students for lives of meaning and impact through service, scholarship, and citizenship. We support learning in action for the common good through programming and relationships that enhance:

Civic learning and participation
Educational partnerships in service to communities
Community-connected teaching, learning and research

The Center’s staff collaborate with community partners, students, and faculty to initiate and sustain community-campus connections, design and fund hands-on learning experiences, and mentor and train emerging civic leaders.

The Center for Careers and Internships prepares students to translate their Middlebury experience into a successful pursuit of their post-graduate goals. We help students explore what’s next through:

The Innovation Hub guides and supports students who want to explore and expand their creative ideas by providing funding, classes, workshops, and mentoring, as well as dedicated workspaces for ideation and collaboration. Our areas of focus include Social Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Innovation, MiddCORE, Oratory Now and Global Health.

The Fellowship in Social Entrepreneurship creates opportunities for students to learn how to be effective agents of social change.
Oratory Now trains and hires students to coach other students in effective public speaking and produces speaking events.
MiddCORE is a leadership and innovation program designed to help students develop the skills, confidence, and experience to be successful in life and work.

Our creativity and innovation programs help make intellectual risk taking and creative problem solving second nature to Middlebury students.
