Middlebury Language Schools—School of Chinese
The Middlebury School of Chinese is a summer intensive-immersion program in Chinese, for pure beginners to advanced-level students, located in Middlebury, Vermont. Students who want to improve their Chinese can apply to the eight-week nondegree program and earn 12 credit-hours (four Middlebury units of credit) in one summer.
Study Abroad—Middlebury School in China
The School in China offers semester- and yearlong programs to college undergraduates at three sites: Beijing, Kunming, and Hangzhou. Students with a background in Chinese commit to linguistic and cultural immersion by adhering to the Middlebury Language Pledge®.
Graduate Program in Chinese
Students seeking a Master of Arts (MA), specifically geared toward Teaching Chinese as a Second Language, can attend the six-week summer program over a series of summers, or combine two summers on the Vermont campus with one academic year at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. Furthermore, there is generous need-based financial aid available.
