Auditions
The Theatre Department invites all students to audition for the spring ‘26 productions
Thursday, October 30
6:45, Mahaney Arts Center (upper lobby near the box office)
Our Town
By Thornton Wilder
Directed by Melissa Lourie
3 performances: April 30 - May 2 in Wright Memorial Theatre
Our Town is a vision of the enduring truths of human existence, played with simplicity and beauty on an almost bare stage. It represents, in its author’s own words, “an attempt to find a value above all price for the smallest events in our daily life.” The play won a Pulitzer Prize in 1938, the year it was first performed.
The play is set in Grovers Corners, a small town in New Hampshire, in 1901 and follows the Webb and Gibbs families and their fellow townspeople as they navigate love, marriage, loss, and eternity. Our Town encourages audiences to appreciate the beauty of everyday moments, the significance of human connection, and the brevity of life.
The Maids
by Jean Genet
Senior work of Ryan Ulen ‘26 and Zeph Santiago ‘26
Directed by Claudio Medeiros
4 performances: April 9-11 in Seeler Studio Theatre
In the absence of their Madame, two maids — sisters Claire and Solange — slip into a playful game of make-believe, taking turns becoming their regal and fickle mistress as they fantasize murdering her. What begins as harmless theatrics spirals into something far more dangerous, where fantasy and reality collapse, and power becomes both intoxicating and cruel.
Casting a total of 19-22 roles. 6 Stage Management positions available.
Call Backs
Are held in MAC 232
Our Town: Sunday, November 2, 2:00 to 5:00 pm

Additional Information:
Come to the Mahaney Arts Center upper lobby promptly at 6:45pm to sign up for a slot. We will hear people individually in the order they have signed up. All are requested to have a 45 - 60 second monologue, memorization and preparation are strongly preferred. The monologue can be either classical or contemporary.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are unable to attend auditions in person, please send a short video of your monologue to professor Claudio Medeiros. Videos received by Wednesday, October 29 will be considered for the callbacks.
The faculty-directed productions count as classes, rehearse throughout the semester, and will culminate in live performances.
Need a Monologue?
You can bring your own or the Theatre Department has a few options available for you here (you must be signed in Google with your Midd credentials).
Full scripts of both plays are available for perusal at the Theatre Office in MAC 332 (Monday - Thursday 9-12pm and 1-3pm)
Interested in getting involved in productions not as a performer?
There’s more to theatre than what the audience sees! You can enroll in Spring Production Studio: Acting as a stage manager or assistant stage manager (requires permission from director), or enroll in Spring Production Studio: Design and create lighting, scenery, and props. Student shows need designers, stage managers and light and sound board operators.
