Middlebury’s program in Beijing offers students the rare opportunity to share double-room dormitory space with Chinese students.

Every student is paired with a student from the host university. Chinese roommates are selected through an application process, and every effort is made to match Middlebury and Chinese students with compatible interests and habits. Previous students who have participated in the Middlebury in Beijing agree that it offers amazing opportunities to build lasting friendships and integrate them in campus life.

Students are housed with their roommates in double-occupancy rooms. The dormitory offers a student lounge, laundry facilities, a galley kitchen, classrooms, cafeterias, exercise facilities, and staff offices. Meals are not included in the cost of this program. Three meals a day are available in the cafeterias at a moderate price. Most students will choose to eat breakfast and lunch in the inexpensive and convenient student cafeteria, and then eat dinner off campus, to enjoy the variety this affords them.
