Jazz Workshop

The Jazz Workshop offers students a weekly space to explore jazz through repertoire development, theory, improvisation, and small group playing. It’s designed to support growth at all levels—no prior jazz experience is required, though basic proficiency on an instrument is expected. Beginning jazz musicians are encouraged to join, and advanced players will find plenty of opportunities to deepen their skills.
Student combos are encouraged and supported, with performance opportunities across campus and at the Mahaney Arts Center. The music department provides keyboards, drums, amps, microphones, and select percussion instruments; students are welcome to bring their own guitars, horns, and other personal instruments.
