Schools Abroad in Spanish
For speakers of Spanish, Middlebury Schools Abroad has locations in Argentina, Chile, Puerto Rico, Spain, or Uruguay.
Argentina
Students at the School in Argentina live in Buenos Aires and take courses at the Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina, Universidad de Buenos Aires, or Universidad Torcuato di Tella. They enter as advanced speakers or may participate in the Intermediate Track, for students with 3-4 semesters of Spanish. There are also special tracks in Public Health and Tango and Identity.
Chile
At the School in Chile, students have the option of directly enrolling in eleven different universities in seven distinct study abroad locations. Each city - Concepción, Santiago, Temuco, Valdivia, and Valparaíso and Viña del Mar - has its own local character. The School in Chile offers several distinct tracks of study: Human Rights and Memory, Applied Studies in Health, Social Movements, and Sustainability and Society
Puerto Rico
At the School in Puerto Rico, students at an advanced level of Spanish directly enroll at one of Puerto Rico’s top universities in either San Juan or Mayagüez. They have a wide range of academic disciplines available to them and may choose to focus on one of our tracks in Afro-Diasporic and Racial Studies, Sustainable Food Systems, Arts Management, Decolonial Feminist Studies, Museum Studies and Art History, Sustainability and Eco-Justice, or Visual and Performing Arts
Spain
With program options in Madrid and Córdoba, the School in Spain offers a range of options for true immersion in Spanish language and culture. There are direct enroll options at each site, in addition to the program center, the Sede Prim, located in Madrid.
Uruguay
The School in Uruguay is based in Montevideo and students study at the Universidad Católica del Uruguay, Universidad de la República, or Universidad ORT. Students may also choose to study on the Architectural Studies track or the track in The Arts.
