Campus Notes

Dear MIIS Faculty and Staff,

August is nearly here, and we look forward to campus reopening in two weeks. Here are a few reminders to ensure we are ready to welcome our community back to campus on August 16.

Time is running out to get your COVID vaccine. With the increased risk of the Delta variant, it’s even more important that all members of the Institute community be vaccinated. All MIIS employees and students who will be on campus this fall are required to get the vaccine by August 15 and upload their vaccine card into the Sentry system. International students who arrive in the U.S. without the vaccine should get their first vaccine as soon as possible after arrival. The Monterey County Department of Health and the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula are both good resources for finding sites and appointments for the vaccine.

Lanyards with MIIS ID now required on campus. Lanyards are available for pick-up from Security for all faculty, staff, and students. Please wear your lanyard at all times on campus unless in your personal office.

If you need a new MIIS ID card:

  • Upload a headshot photo to the MIIS directory. Be sure to log in with your Middlebury.edu email address and then click “Upload Photo” at the top of the web page.
  • E-mail miissecurity@middlebury.edu your name, Institute ID number, and best email address.
  • Security will make your ID card and notify you when it’s ready for pick-up in person.
  • Security is able to mail ID cards to online-only faculty, staff, and students. Follow this process and include your mailing address in your email to Security.

We encourage you to come to campus over the next couple of weeks to make sure you are all set up and ready to go for the campus reopening on August 16.

Sincerely,

Jeff Dayton-Johnson

VP of Academic Affairs and Dean of the Institute
