Healing Justice: Film Screening & Dialogue with Dr. Shakti Butler

Dr. Shakti Butler’s newest film, Healing Justice, explores the causes and consequences of the current American Justice system and its effect on marginalized communities. This powerful documentary addresses the school-to-prison pipeline, the need for comprehensive criminal justice reform and the importance of healing and restorative practices. Designed for dialogue, Healing Justice is meant to prompt questions and open conversations, exploring trauma, justice and healing.

This event is being organized by the Center’s Allies at MIIS initiative and is co-sponsored by the California State University Monterey Bay (CSUMB) and the Whites for Racial Equity. This event is open to the public.
