Bad Times for the Balkans
Join MIIS Amnesty International Club and fellow students as they speak about their spring break learning experience in the Balkans with Dr. Jan Black. Students will speak on their perspectives of sovereignty and self-determination in relation to themselves and the places they visited. The program explored the causes of conflict and means of prevention; the processes of peace-building; the reconciliation of adversaries; and the reweaving of social fabric. Participants traveled through much of the former Yugoslavia, including Serbia, Kosovo, Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia and Croatia.
Light refreshments to follow.
Join us to hear participants share reflections on their experience and the meaning of sovereignty and self-determination today. For more information, visit http://sites.miis.edu/balkans or contact Carolyn Meyer at cmeyer@miis.edu/831-647-6417.
