Please join us for an informative evening with brief updates on the state of the UN in 2019, the work of your UNA Chapter, and special speaker, international journalist Andrew Purvis.

Speaker Topic: “The Refugee Story: Separating Fact from Fiction”
Navigating the world of information and misinformation about refugees: who are they, what dangers do they face, what dangers might they pose, how can we help? Focus on Syria & Central America. Our featured speaker Andrew Purvis, who is from Montreal, served as bureau chief and foreign correspondent for TIME Magazine in Africa, the Balkans and Eastern Europe and more recently as a media specialist with the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) in Beirut.

This is a free event. All are welcome - bring a friend!
Join us for socializing - please bring an international dish to share, for 6-8 people, by 5:45. The potluck will start at 6 pm.
