Virtual MIIS

Closed to the Public

Students, staff, faculty, and administrators on campuses across the country are grappling with the work that needs to be done in higher ed to dismantle systemic barriers to access, opportunity, equity, and belonging. It can be hard to move the needle in terms of institutional change if we aren’t on the same page about the language we’re using and the goals we’re working towards. This workshop will provide an opportunity to dig into the language of power, privilege, racism, anti-racism, and white supremacy, to explore how these concepts manifest in higher ed settings, and to map out goals with respect to changing campus culture in a way that aspires to foster greater access, opportunity, equity, and belonging, particularly for historically excluded and minoritized communities.
