Institute Staffer’s Foreign Policy Interview Picked Up by USA Today, Others
Posted May 4, 2009
Johan Bergenäs, a research associate at the Monterey Institute’s James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies, recently interviewed former chief United Nations weapons inspector Hans Blix for Foreign Policy magazine. Blix is most well-known for contradicting the Bush administration’s claims regarding Saddam Hussein’s weapons program in the months leading up to the United State’s 2003 military action against Iraq; he previously served as a Swedish diplomat and foreign minister, and as director-general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) from 1981 to 1997.
Bergenäs’ interview with Blix was noted and quoted by USA Today, Global Security Newswire and The Atlantic magazine columnist/blogger Andrew Sullivan, among others.
