Hijab was born in Syria to Palestinian Arab parents, educated at the American University in Beirut, and has written more than 100 articles and two books on Arab and Palestinian issues. She’s served as Editor-in-Chief of the London-based Middle East Magazine and Senior Development Director at the UN, and consulted for UNICEF, the World Bank and Columbia University. She’s currently the Director of Al Shabaka: The Palestinian Policy Network, and comes to talk about “The Arab Uprising: Implications for U.S. Policy and the Role of the U.N.”
