MIISTales: Picnic without Borders
When: Tuesday, November 13 12:15-1:30 (International Education Week)
Where: Picnic benches in front of Holland
Bad weather: (TBD)
Theme: Culture shock experienced while going to school (or living) in another country. How education systems or ways of life vary across cultures.
In honor of the late Professor Peter Grothe, MIISTales will be hosting a picnic style event that promotes dialogue across cultures during International Education Week. Thanks to Peter, these cross-cultural lunches have long been a tradition at MIIS and we want to keep the tradition alive. Students of different majors and backgrounds will be placed in groups in which cross-cultural discussions will be facilitated by either a staff or faculty member (see theme above). Students are required to bring a lunch, complimentary drinks and desserts will be provided!
Whether you are a new or returning student, come meet your fellow classmates, share your stories and celebrate the life and work of Peter Grothe!!
