Peacebuilding and Conflict in the Balkans: Expert panel and student project fair

This event introduces attendees to the many facets of peacebuilding and conflict transformation in the Western Balkans, with a special emphasis on examinations of nationalism, women and LGBT advocacy, and language policy. From 11:00-11:50, a panel of experts from Serbia and Bosnia will introduce the MIIS community to a wide range of conflict transformation challenges and lessons learned. From 12:00-1:30, 18 MIIS students will then present their own research and design projects related to Peacebuilding and Conflict Transformation in the Western Balkans, carried out in conjunction with a Spring Break experiential learning course to Croatia, Bosnia Hercegovina and Serbia. Food will be provided.
