Porschia is a dedicated professional with a diverse background in both the sciences and the world of libraries, combining her passion for nature, gaming, and knowledge-sharing. Originally from Lake Tahoe and raised in Westminster, California, Porschia’s love for the outdoors led her to pursue a degree in Environmental Science and Outdoor Adventure Leadership at Sierra Nevada College. Her education has fostered a deep appreciation for wilderness expeditions and scientific research, inspiring her to engage in back-country scenic adventures that align with her strong commitment to environmental stewardship.
After relocating to Carmel, California in 2024, Porschia transitioned into a career at the Middlebury Institute Library, where she has applied her broad skillset in information management to support communities in accessing vital resources. She has a rich history of working with library collections and e-resources, and in niche areas such as comic books, collectible cards, and tabletop games, demonstrating her ability to integrate unique interests with library and information technology practices.
Her professional journey reflects a passion for both exploration—whether in the natural world or through the realms of gaming—and an ongoing commitment to preserving and sharing knowledge across diverse fields. With a strong foundation in scientific research and a playful spirit, Porschia continues to combine her varied passions, ensuring her work impacts the communities and environments she cares for deeply.
