Shivali Goel is a distinguished expert in natural language processing (NLP) and artificial intelligence (AI), currently leading AI initiatives within Adobe’s globalization team. She excels at integrating cutting-edge AI solutions with traditional localization practices to enhance global communication technologies. Her notable accomplishments include inventing an innovative automatic video translation and dubbing system for Adobe, significantly improving quality and efficiency, and earning her the prestigious Adobe Tech Excellence Award in 2023.
An active contributor to the field, Ms. Goel is on the board of directors of the Association for Machine Translation in the Americas (AMTA). She has numerous international publications and frequently presents her research globally. She is also a passionate advocate for AI ethics, sharing her insights as a guest lecturer at Santa Clara University. Her work bridges the gap between industry innovation and academic exploration in AI, localization, and responsible technology development.
Shivali Goel’s expertise spans natural language processing (NLP), artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and deep learning, with a specific focus on application to globalization and localization. Areas of Interest
Growing up learning three languages, Ms. Goel developed a firsthand appreciation for the nuances of language and the importance of effective cross-cultural communication. This personal experience directly informs her fascination with artificial intelligence and its potential to break down linguistic barriers. She is keenly interested in the intellectual challenge of designing AI systems that not only translate accurately but also foster genuine multicultural understanding. Contributing to the responsible development and thoughtful application of these technologies drives her research and teaching endeavors.
