Alissa serves as a Research Associate at the Center for the Blue Economy at MIIS, working under the guidance of Dr. Charles Colgan. Her current focus involves the Marine Natural Capital Project, where she diligently works on preparing estimates of natural capital associated with fisheries and beach recreation.


Alissa holds a BA in Economics with a specialized focus on environmental studies and sciences from Skidmore College. Her academic journey continued with a Master of Science in Resource Economics and Policy from the University of Maine. With a rich background in marine conservation, she actively contributed to initiatives aimed at preserving coral, sea turtles, and native algae in both the Caribbean and Hawaii.


Within the vibrant environment of CBE, Alissa takes pride in seamlessly blending her profound passion for the marine environment with her academic expertise. Presently located in Buffalo, NY, she enthusiastically represents her local pride—Go Bills!
