With their Spellbook cell phone case in hand and a general love of the Halloween aesthetic, Caroline Zeiher is a non-binary gendered feminist and social justice ally. While hailing from Ventura, California, this English and Japanese speaker has once called both Portland, Oregon and Japan home, at one time or another. Currently, in their second semester of the International Education Management program, Caroline decided to join Allies at MIIS in an effort to reduce injustices and inequities within the higher education field and the world at large. Although this mission can be overwhelming at times, they find comfort in the acceptance and support that they’ve found in the people of their program. These individuals identify with different struggles, express empathy, and create a safe space for individuals to voice their opinions and reveal their identities. A step in the right direction! While caffeine plays a large role in their motivation, Caroline finds their future vision of self and aspirations to create an environment where they, and others, feel able to express their identity freely and make positive change in the world.
