Emily Hoang

Emily Hoang, is a first year dual degree MPA/International Education Management student who calls Los Angeles home. In middle school,Emily moved out of the city to Chino, CA and experienced the culture shock of her life. In high school, Emily applied and was accepted to Bright Prospect, a non-profit organization dedicated empowering high potential, low-income students to and through college. With their support, Emily set off to the East coast where she received her B.A. in Comparative Literature from Middlebury College. At Middlebury, Emily became deeply aware of how her own intersectionalities have impacted her life decisions and opportunities. What motivated her to join Allies at MIIS was her desire to learn how to transform her experiences into positive dialogue and to learn different ways to engage with others on issues of discrimination, inclusion, and equity.
