Hussainatu Blake is a visionary Senior Executive with 15+ years of career experience working in global edtech, adult education and higher education. She also has over 10+ years of supervisory experience in strategic planning & execution, program management, relationship cultivation, and thought leadership. Dr. Blake’s professional experience includes founding and leading Focal Point Global, a global organization whose mission is to empower underserved youth in USA and several African countries through education & technology; serving as the inaugural Education & Workforce Strategist at The Patrick J McGovern Foundation; and former adjunct professor of Business Law at Baltimore City Community College. Currently, Dr. Blake is an EDSAFE AI Ally Fellow, a year-long program that provides an outstanding platform to learn and work on questions of AI in education. In addition, she was recently appointed by Maryland Governor Wes Moore as a Governing Board Member of the Maryland Longitudinal Data System Center (MLDS).

Course Description
Global Education for the Future
This course explores the future of global education by examining new approaches to facilitating international exchange and intercultural learning through technology. We will study models ranging from virtual exchange and connected classes to training programs and Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) programs. We will review the scholarship and practice literature to identify the opportunities and challenges with advancing global learning through technology, including implications for sustainability, diversity, equity, inclusion and access. Through mini-lessons, students will practice design, facilitation, assessment, and evaluation of learning with selected technologies.
