Linda Ellington

After working in IBM for 23 years, Dr. Linda Ellington is an Associate Dean of Business at Southern New Hampshire University. She conducted her doctoral research at the University of Oxford and the University of Warwick, United Kingdom. Her research focus is on the intersection of leadership and organizational change, uncovering strategies that explore how effective leaders navigate complex challenges to make impactful strategic choices. Dr. Ellington has published extensively in top-tier journals, scholarly books, and is a member of several university doctoral dissertations, such as at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa. Beyond academia, she has published eight children’s books in the genre of bullying and taking care of the planet. She collaborates with community leaders to read stories to children, fostering a love of literacy and inspiring the next generation of readers.
As both a passionate educator and a dedicated scholar, Dr. Ellington actively teaches and works with students while leading cutting-edge research initiatives. She is invested in understanding how leadership practices influence innovation and team performance in organizations. As a professor, she has the ability to guide students, teams, foster innovation, and drive strategic decision making. She uses her effective communication, curriculum design, and student engagement skills to inspire and educate learners across academic domains.

As a teacher and researcher, Dr. Ellington thrives on a deep curiosity and desire to explore the unknown. A fascination with understanding complex ideas, uncovering new facts, or developing innovation is part of her intellectual passion. Her motivation comes from seeing students develop, evolve, and reach their goals. The ability to inspire students in their academic journey is a significant source of joy for her. The learning process never stops, and she constantly wants to improve, whether through refining teaching methods, expanding knowledge, or tackling new research questions. The ability to grow professionally while contributing to the broader academic community provides a lifelong source of motivation for Dr. Ellington.
