Mara Schoeny is associate professor of conflict analysis and resolution at the School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution at George Mason University and the Director of the School’s Graduate Certificate and Undergraduate Programs. Her current focus is developing curricula and training that support constructive conflict engagement and diverse roles for those working on complex social issues. Current projects include student and community engagement around history, memory and conflict as related to the U.S. Civil War. She teaches courses in research and evaluation methods, practice skills and field based projects. Her research and practice interests include elicitive training, experiential learning and simulation design, appreciative inquiry in evaluation, and dialogue processes.
