Olivia Dudley

My name is Olivia, and I am from Natural Bridge, a small town in Appalachian Virginia. For my undergraduate studies, I attended West Virginia University and received my bachelor’s degree in International Studies and Slavic and East European Studies with minors in Russian and Gender Studies. I just graduated from the University of Denver with my master’s degree in International Human Rights. During my time at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies, I worked with the Conflict Resolution Institute and served as the co-Deputy Director of the Human Trafficking Center, the only graduate student-led research and advocacy center of its kind. My interests focus on gender, human security, ethnic/identity conflict, genocide, and mass atrocity prevention. My most recent work has focused on the forecasting, early warning and risk assessment instruments used to predict genocide and mass atrocities. I am hoping to apply my knowledge and experience from the Summer Peacebuilding Program to my research and writing on using peacebuilding and restorative practices during early intervention and prevention of genocide. After taking a break, I plan to pursue my doctorate and continue my research in ethnic/identity conflict, genocide and mass atrocity prevention.
