I was born and raised in a small town in Cádiz (Andalucía), the southernmost region of Spain. While finishing my studies in Architecture I realized my strong passion for the defense of Social Justice. This brought me to a rural school in Guatemala where I was volunteering as a teacher for indigenous children. After that I came back to Spain and volunteered with Red Cross and Asociación Pro Derechos Humanos de Andalucía. With them, I worked with refugees and minorities mainly related to the constant migration flows coming from Africa, and I imparted several workshops to students about racism and phobias, hatred speech, and migration among others. I really want to dedicate my professional life to work with injustices trying to do my best to move towards a positive transformation of the world. That’s why I am now studying a M.A. in International Policy and Development, where I expect to gain the theory I am lacking to improve my involvement in this field. One of the first courses I took here was an introduction to Conflict Resolution which, among many theories and skills, introduced me to the concept of Peacebuilding. SPP provides the perfect opportunity to learn more about this multifaceted approach.
