Dr. Sara Cureton is a multidisciplinary subject matter expert with a passion for developing authentic leaders. She began her career in journalism where she discovered a profound curiosity about people and culture and a love for storytelling. Since 2010, her work in university classrooms has focused on the social-emotional aspects of communication, leadership, and media psychology. Additionally, she has served as a subject matter expert in organizational communication and emotional & cultural intelligence in business and healthcare.
Dr. Cureton finds joy in building connections and community, travel and food adventures, and learning new things. An Arizona native, she appreciates the desert, but enjoys escaping to a dog-friendly beach a few times a year. She finds the wisdom of lived experiences to be as essential to leadership development as any required text.
Dr. Cureton’s main areas of expertise are leadership, communication, psychology, business and management.
Areas of Interest
Sara has a multitude of interests including values-based leadership, human communication, technology and innovation, and intercultural study. Her past research topics include theories of personality, working styles, narrative meaning-making, trust, and political participation. She creates and facilitates impactful experiences that infuse reflective and experiential learning in primarily online modalities.
