I am from Kansas, which seems to be more commonly known as the land of the Wizard of Oz. Growing up, I was very passionate about working with animals — I helped train dogs rescued from abusive homes, then became a wildlife rehabilitator at a local nature center. I was, and still am, also a lover of music (particularly piano), stories, and foreign languages. After high school, I received a scholarship to study in Nepal with Where There Be Dragons, and there my passion for peace took root. Now, as a physics major with a minor in conflict analysis and trauma studies, I’m keenly interested in the relations between science, policy, environmental justice, and development. I’m excited to gain practical experience in peacebuilding through the SPP! Despite the many challenges we face, I am confident that we can create a more peaceful and sustainable way of relating both to the earth and to each other, and am eager to learn from and connect with others working toward the same goal.
