Simran Dhingra

I am pursuing a Master’s in Conflict Analysis and Peace Building from Jamia Millia Islamia, India. I graduated from University of Delhi, in BA Honours Humanities and Social Sciences. I grew up in a multicultural environment in England and did my BTEC Business Studies Diploma from Sandwell College, Birmingham, where I was a part of the College Student Union as the Multi-faith Officer. This role enabled me to celebrate diversity and ensure that the students from different nationalities, ethnicities, religions, felt safe and confident in the college. I have previously interned with the United Nations Global Compact Network and National Human Rights Commission, India. This autumn, I look forward to beginning an internship with United Nations Climate Change, Bonn, Germany. I am thrilled to be a part of the Summer Peacebuilding Program, I am keen on expanding my knowledge on peacebuilding processes, developing skills for conflict resolution and transformation. I look forward to learning from the expert practitioners who are working towards ending all forms of violence and establishing durable peace for communities. As a budding researcher my main areas of interest are Gender Equality, Peacebuilding, Human Rights, Migration and Postcolonial Studies.
