I hail from New Delhi, the bustling capital of India. It brings together in its fold – the old and the new, the traditional and the modern and a fascinating blend of myriad cultures. It’s a like a mixing bowl where people from different backgrounds, ethnicity, cultures and traditions live together in harmony.  I study Early Childhood Care and Education at Ambedkar University New Delhi. Working with children is always a joy and teaching is something that I enjoy doing. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing the children make progress and become independent thinkers. Besides working with kids, photography, travelling and arts are few of my other interests. As a student and educator, I strongly believe that education has a great role in building peace. Being a conglomerate that celebrates different cultures, India also faces challenges and developmental threats due to the conflicts and differences that arise due to diversity. I am exploring the idea of including ‘peace building’ as a part of the educational curriculum as students can bring great change in the future of our society. I am honoured and excited to be a part of the Peace Building Programme as it is a great opportunity for me to learn, reflect, exchange ideas with like-minded peers and understand perspectives.
