“Electrification of the maritime industry is a promising trend that could revolutionize the transportation industry that sustains the world’s economies.”1 What are the challenges and opportunities ahead in the maritime industry?

A Sea Change in Battery Propulsion

Speaker:  TJ “Teej” Ragsdale, Co-Founder, Entheos, and Partner, Hagal

Thursday, October 12, 2023

6:00pm to 7:00pm Pacific Time

Online via Zoom (details below)

About the Topic

This talk will cover a brief history of alternative fuels in the maritime context and an exploration of how the maritime world will electrify in much the same way as the over-the-road world electrified between 2005-2025. The talk will also cover an analysis of which maritime applications and operators will adopt more easily/quickly and why others will take much longer to adopt novel fuel types. As the lecturer is a Co-Founder of a company with Norwegian origins (Entheos), these topics will be contextualized geographically, delineating clearly the different approaches that Europe and the US have taken to maritime electrification.

Note 1 from header:  From article, “Electrification offers cleaner maritime transportation,” published by the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers).
