Institute Students Combat Hunger Locally As Well As Globally
September 1, 2009
The Santa Cruz Sentinel highlighted the volunteer work of students from the Monterey Institute in support of Ag Against Hunger, a local non-profit that recently gathered 120,000 pounds of fresh produce that was distributed to food banks rather than being tilled into the soil. The students, from nations including Palestine, Malaysia, Kenya, Indonesia and Vietnam, were part of the Institute’s just-completed summer program in Global Trade and Development.
