International Education Management graduate Robin Riebman shares how her coursework and connections with classmates helped her launch a career in international education.
Learning doesn’t stop when you finish school and start working.
To that end, the Middlebury Institute has added seven new microcredentials for professionals and graduate students who want to explore a new field, gain additional expertise, or move up in their career.
The options span language teaching, international education management, and intercultural competence. Each microcredential requires three courses (9 credits total), all of which are online and asynchronous (no required live class meetings).
Students can start the microcredential in any semester that a required course is offered. After completing all classes, they receive a digital badge to share on social media profiles and with current and potential employers.
“Each of these microcredentials is designed to meet the needs of professionals who are looking to increase their competitive advantage and enhance their work,” said Wick.
Current Microcredentials Offered (Fall 2025)
The courses were developed by faculty from our International Education Management, TESOL, and Intercultural Competence programs.
