Dr. Cassandra D. Caldwell is an internationally-renowned executive, faculty member, philanthropist, consultant, entrepreneur, and scholar.  She has been featured in: Black Enterprise Magazine, Miami Legacy Magazine, Profiles in Diversity Journal, HBCU Connect Magazine, INSIGHT into Diversity Magazine, and The Journal of Blacks in Higher Education

She graduated from the Harvard Business School Executive Education Program in Corporate Social Responsibility. Dr. Caldwell earned a Ph.D. in human and community resource development from The Ohio State University, an M.P.A. in public administration from North Carolina Central University, and a B.A. in speech communication from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She was a visiting scholar in Ghana, South Africa, England, and Swaziland. 

Her community service involvement includes being an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and serving on the following boards at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill: The Sonja Haynes Stone Center for Research in Black Culture and History, The Alumni Committee for Racial and Ethnic Diversity, and the Carolina Women’s Leadership Council. She is also a board member for The North Carolina Central University College of Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities and Glam-a-THON. In addition to her community service, she established the Dr. Cassandra Denise Caldwell Endowed Fellowship and Scholarship at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and North Carolina Central University. These endowments benefit North Carolina first-generation college students where Dr. Caldwell has lived, worked, or has special affiliations.

Beech Outstanding Alumni Award, Glam-A-Thon Glammy Award, South Florida’s Most Powerful & Influential Black Professionals, Miami’s Most Influential and Prominent Black Women in Business and Industry, Profiles in Diversity Journal CEO Leadership in Action Award, Profiles in Diversity Journal Excellence in Innovation Award, Wake County Chapter of the National Congress of Black Women 21st Century African-American Trailblazer /Sojourner Truth Legacy Award, and The North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics Keeper of the Dream Award.

Her teaching areas of expertise include: leadership, nonprofit management, diversity & inclusion, human resources, organizational theory & behavior, and research methods.

Areas of Interest

Dr. Caldwell’s interests focus on leadership, organizational development, diversity and inclusion, and international education. Her international education includes being a visiting scholar in Ghana, South Africa, and Swaziland. Her latest international academic appointment was as a visiting scholar at The Oxford Round Table for Women’s Leadership at the University of Oxford in England. In addition to these international academic appointments, Dr. Caldwell has been invited to present on leadership topics in Japan, Morocco, South Africa, Taiwan, Hong Kong, England, Canada, Austria, and France.
