Chunjie (Angela) Shen has been working as a professional interpreter and translator for almost a decade for international conferences and world leaders in business, academics, and politics.

She is the Founder of PacWise Consulting LLC based in San Francisco Bay Area and has been servicing as a vendor for Fortune 100 corporations, tech unicorns, venture capitals, government agencies and top universities from both the U.S. and China, including Apple, Facebook, Oracle, Stanford University and UC Berkeley.

She also worked in-house as an interpreter and translator at a Californian nonprofit organization facilitating professional exchanges between government agencies between U.S. and China as well as executive training programs for Chinese SOEs.

Prior to coming to the U.S. for her study at Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, she taught interpretation and translation at the Department of Foreign Languages in Shanghai Maritime University. Shen volunteered at Shanghai Special Olympics and Shanghai Art Museum as an interpreter and interned at Morgan Stanley.

Shen now lives with her husband and their English bulldog in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Areas of Interest

As an industry practitioner for almost a decade, Shen hopes to bring her experience to class, helping students hone their skills and add their value and insight in future job market. She believes that “what really makes a difference in the world is the ability to bring enthusiasm and compassion to an encounter between cultures, especially disparate ones”, and she hopes to see each student put their own dent in the universe through translation & interpretation.
