24th Annual International Bazaar Spotlights Diversity at MIIS
Hundreds of MIIS community members, students, faculty, staff and alumni celebrated the diversity of the Monterey Institute campus on April 16 through the sharing of international cuisine, traditions and entertainment at the Institute’s 24th annual International Bazaar. The event kicked off at 12 noon with a performance by the local Taiko drumming troupe, Shinso Mugen Daiko.
Students worked in groups to set up the feast, with offerings of a wide variety of international cuisine ranging from ‘50s era U.S. delicacies such as the infamous Ambrosia Salad to Kimbob (Korean sushi) to a fresh Spanish gazpacho soup made using ingredients from the MIIS student garden. The event also featured a number of fun activities for children and the annual student photo contest.
