Spotlight on Iran’s Nuclear Weapons Program Leads National Media to CNS Experts
The official visit of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the United States this week prompted widespread discussion in the national media about the possibility of international action to halt Iran’s nuclear weapons ambitions. The experts at the Monterey Institute’s James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies (CNS) were in high demand as the national and international media sought to shed light on this complex issue:
On March 5, 2012 - Jeffrey Lewis, director of the East Asia Nonproliferation Program at CNS, was quoted in the Los Angeles Times article “Obama, Israel’s Netanyahu show unity on Iran despite differences.”
The same day, “What about Israel’s Nukes?” in the New Yorker extensively referenced Avner Cohen, Monterey Institute professor, CNS senior fellow, and internationally-recognized expert on Israel’s nuclear program.
World Politics Review published the briefing “Walking Back Iran Sanctions with Re-Engagement” by Meghan Warren, research associate at CNS, on March 6.
