Ms. Lau has been working as a freelance conference interpreter since 1994. She is an active member of International Association of Conference Interpreter (AIIC) since 2009. Her clients include IT companies, automakers, investment companies, universities and research institutions, government agencies at state and federal levels, nonprofit organizations and international agencies. As a member of the US delegation, she supported several rounds of Six-Party Talks. She supported many high-level US-China dialogues as well as state visits. 2000-2018 Ms. Lau, as full-time or visiting faculty, had taught sight translation, consecutive interpretation and simultaneous interpretation at Middlebury Institute of International Studies, formerly Monterey Institute of International Studies. Ms. Lau received a BA in International Relations, MBA and MA in Conference Interpretation from MIIS. In 2013, she received her J.D. from Monterey College of Law.
