Professor Proskurin has been in the localization industry for over ten years and worked with leading companies like SDL, Google, Apple, GoPro, and Facebook. She brings diverse experience from both the vendor-side and client-side perspectives.

Throughout her career, Yelena has led website, product, marketing, and help center localization efforts to drive launches and expand product growth. She spearheaded marketing and engineering stakeholder education programs to ensure that localization becomes a launch requirement.

As a Program Manager at GoPro, Yelena led both the marketing and website localization efforts for the HERO7 and HERO8 camera launches. She also advised company leadership on international growth strategy. At WhatsApp, Professor Proskurin continues to work on product growth and educating stakeholders on localization processes. She heads the consumer marketing and growth localization efforts in turn helping to bring communication to parts of the world that otherwise would not have access to it.

Before starting her localization management career, Professor Proskurin wrote for BBC Russia and translated for world-renowned astrophysicist Alex Filippenko.
