Far-Right Communities are Pushing a Q-Anon Film

CTEC Digital Research Lead Alex Newhouse and Researcher Mike Donnelly recently published a brief investigating the disinformation campaign around a far-right conspiracy theory documentary. 

Called Out of Shadows, the film alleges wide-ranging manipulation and abuse coordinated by political elites and media sites. Donnelly and Newhouse observed that the QAnon community—supporters of a violent right-wing fringe ideology—are predominantly responsible for spreading the film and making discussion of it go viral across social media platforms.

CTEC has found evidence of probable automated activity within the Out of Shadows discussion on Twitter. Several of the most important users score highly when measured for bot activity, and behavior among other users contains irregularities indicative of automation. 
Donnelly and Newhouse wrote up these findings in a report that contains interactive network visualizations and additional conclusions.
