LaTesha Charbonnet Gonzales MATESOL/LPA ‘08

LaTesha Charbonnet Gonzales MATESOL/LPA ‘08 has been appointed director of the Intensive English Program at the University of New Orleans.

When LaTesha Charbonnet Gonzales got her acceptance letter to the Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (MATESOL) program at the Monterey Institute, she was staying with family after evacuating from her home in native New Orleans because of Hurricane Katrina. As a student at the Institute she used her time well, actively building her skills and connections, including working with Professor Kathi Bailey as an editorial assistant.

She is an active member of EnglishUSA, NAFSA, TESOL, and LaTESOL. Her interests include curriculum development and teacher training. LaTesha resides in New Orleans with her husband and two-year old son, Gabriel. She is a classically trained ballerina and enjoys learning about other cultures and their ways of life.
