International Policy Studies alum John Edward Meyers MAIPS ’04 examined the impact of REDD+ carbon offsets in Colombia in a recent article for the Stanford Social Innovation Review.

Meyers and his coauthors looked at the history and implications of the REDD+ financing framework for carbon offsets in Colombia’s Selva de Matavén Unified Indigenous Reserve. The article refutes claims that the REDD+ projects generated too many carbon credits for the amount of emission reductions it achieved.
