The cybersecurity industry needs lifelong learners who bring a mix of hard and soft skills to tackle emerging challenges.
There’s a lot of talk about online safety.
But do we really understand one another? High-stakes situations call for technical and nontechnical staff and administrators to communicate clearly to navigate decisions.
The Middlebury Institute’s new online short course, Introduction to Cybersecurity Communications, covers the key concepts and terminology that are the foundation of communication when threats are real and the stakes are high.
“This course leverages the Institute’s expertise in both cybersecurity and content-based language instruction with the goal of improving professional communication and collaboration in cybersecurity efforts internationally,” said Alicia Brent, senior director of Executive and Custom Programs and project manager for the course.
The course is particularly useful for individuals working in the cybersecurity industry as interpreters or translators and second-language users of English currently working in cybersecurity or interested in working in the field.
This course introduces students to core principles and frameworks of critical infrastructure protection, including field-specific terminology and the life cycle of a cybersecurity incident.
Completing this course will help you communicate complex technical concepts and deliver a presentation about critical infrastructure protection in your region, giving you tools to deepen your understanding of critical infrastructure communication strategies.
Finishing this course earns students a certificate of completion and a badge to share on their social media profiles.
The course is currently being offered at a special rate of $59 for a limited time. Learn more and register.
