Preview Days

In August 2025, Middlebury’s Board of Trustees decided to close all in-person programs and two online programs at the Middlebury Institute. As a result, we will no longer be hosting Preview Days.
You can see which programs are still accepting new students here.
Accommodation
There are many great hotels in the Monterey area. Sign up for Preview Days to get information on discounts. Here are a few convenient options:
- Arbor Inn (about 15 minute walk)
- Monterey Hostel (about 1.5 miles from campus)
- Hotel Pacific (about 2 blocks)
- Casa Munras (about 7-10 minute walk, across from Munras Residence Hall, our student housing)
- Colton Inn (about 2 blocks)
- Hotel Abrego (about 10 minute walk)
- Marriott (across the street)
- Portola Hotel (about 2 blocks)

Parking
You will see signs for parking at the following locations:
- 425 Van Buren Street
- Jefferson Street (between Van Buren Street and Pierce Street)
Directions
The Institute is located in central California in the city of Monterey, approximately 130 miles (210 kilometers) south of San Francisco and 350 miles (560 kilometers) north of Los Angeles.
