Ambassador Rufus H. Yerxa, outgoing deputy director-general of the World Trade Organization, will join the faculty of the Monterey Institute as a visiting professor in February.
“Make the most of every opportunity,” is the advice recent Monterey Institute alumna Nathalie Marin-Gest gives current students. She used her connections from a summer internship at Fair Trade USA to land a full-time position in her chosen field by the time she graduated.
“Trade and Conflict” will be the focus of the sixth annual student-organized Trade Conference at the Monterey Institute on March 2, which will open with a lively student debate, followed by discussion panels and keynote speaker Gary Horlick.
Monterey Institute alumni Garvey McIntosh (MAIPS ’03) and Kirsten Bauman (MAIPS ’99) found it especially easy to establish professional rapport when they represented NASA and the State Department in discussions to further cooperation between South Korea and the US in the field of aeronautics.
