The Monterey Institute is celebrating International Education Week November 14 through 18 with a series of public events for the local community, culminating in a campus visit by students from four area high schools.
For the 2011-2012 competition, Monterey Institute students received a total of five U.S. Fulbright Awards, setting a new school record and exceeding the per capita number of awards at much larger schools.
Thirty-two local businesses and student service providers participated in the second annual Student Information Fair, which drew a large crowd on a sunny afternoon at the Monterey Institute’s downtown campus.
Thirty-seven Fulbright scholars from 34 countries arrived at the Monterey Institute recently for an intensive three-week course designed to prepare them for graduate degree programs at various American universities.
Students in the Monterey Institute’s Summer Intensive Language Programs are not only busy learning grammar and increasing their vocabulary in a new language, but also taking time to learn about the cultural context through music, dance and food.
