In March 2022, the Center on Terrorism, Extremism, and Counterterrorism was asked to provide two statements for the record for the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol. This statement, written by CTEC Director Jason Blazakis, CTEC Senior Research Scholar Matt Kriner, CTEC Research Lead Erica Barbarossa, and CTEC Research Assistant Eli Drachman, focuses on conspiracy theories as a driver of political violence.
