CTEC Director and Middlebury Institute Professor Jason Blazakis was quoted in The Informant about sentencing for domestic terrorism in regards to the Christopher Hasson case.

Professor Blazakis argued that a new federal crime needs to be created to properly sentence people who wish to engage in terrorism, such as Hasson.
He explained:

“The sentence, slightly more than 13 years, is insufficient for the crimes he aspired to carry out. Even the most hapless ISIS and AQ would-be material supporters routinely get sentences of 15-20 years.”
