Available to all students
William and Janice Anderson Scholarship
Supports Translation and Interpretation students
Steven J. Baker Scholarship
Supports students, with preference to those from Italy or France or with Italian or French as their second language
Christine R. Pearson Casanave ’77 Scholarship
Supports students in the Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) program
Maxwell and Cynthia N. Chaplin Scholarship
Supports students in the Nonproliferation and Terrorism Studies program
Professor Edgard Coly Scholarship for Students from Africa
Supports graduate financial aid to students in any of the MIIS degree programs. Preference given as follows: 1) International student(s) from Africa; 2) Student(s) born in Africa or were African residents and now reside elsewhere; and 3) Student(s) intending to pursue career opportunities in Africa.

The General Joseph W. Stilwell Scholarship
Thanks to the generosity of the Stilwell family and friends of the Middlebury Institute, each year we offer several $10,000-per-year (prorated by program length) scholarships to deserving students from the People’s Republic of China. Preference is given to students who intend to return to China to pursue a career. Recipients must maintain good academic standing throughout their course of study to retain the award. This scholarship is only available for fall start students and eligible applicants should apply to a Middlebury Institute degree program by April 1 to be considered.
