Lorena Ortiz Schneider MATI ’92 was featured in the women’s issue of MultiLingual as an industry leader.
Ortiz Schneider, a graduate of the MA in Translation and Interpretation program and a 2021 Leader in Residence, is known as an advocate for others in the translation and interpretation profession. Notably, she has improved working conditions and pay for interpreters in the California Workers’ Compensation system and built respect for the profession. Ortiz Schneider has also trained interpreters for work across a wide range of settings, from hospitals to the U.S. Army, and launched her own translation and interpretation business.
